Warbling songstress Alicia Keys has locked up the musical kudos. And now she’s making her assault on cinema. She’s already completed roles as an unlikely assassin in Joe Carnahan’s Smokin’ Aces and a less lethal part in The Nanny Diaries.
Now she’s signed up to a big ol’ first-look production deal with Disney. And her first project for the Mouse House will be a remake of 1958 witchy romantic comedy Bell, Book And Candle, in which she’ll bag the lead.
"I never wanted to play myself, not in the first role or even the second. I want to do the unexpected," Keys told Variety. If only Mariah Carey had had half her brains.
