There has been a shake-up in the cast for X-Men spin-off New Mutants before a frame of the movie has been shot, which we suppose is the best way for it to happen. The bad news is that Rosario Dawson has left the film, but has been replaced by Alice Braga.
Josh Boone is gearing up to shoot the story of younger mutants who end up forming a new team, learning to cope with their powers and trying they escape a secret facility where they've been imprisoned.
Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams are already aboard to star and the cast is slowly being built, with Henry Zaga as Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Moonstar and Charlie Heaton as Cannonball. Braga is taking on Dawson's planned role as Dr. Ceilia Reyes, a mutant and medical doctor who acts as a mentor for the teens and who can also generate a protective bio-field around herself.
With a 13 April, 2018 release date already on the books, Boone will kick off shooting based on the script he wrote with Knate Lee in a couple of weeks.
