Back in April last year, Robert Rodriguez was all set to kick off shooting on his latest film, crime thriller Hypnotic, with Ben Affleck on board to star. But as the pandemic gripped the world and filmmaking in particular, the movie had to be delayed. Rodriguez is gearing up to shoot later this year, and has added Alice Braga to the cast.
Hypnotic, which Rodriguez has revised from a script draft by Kong: Skull Island's Max Borenstein, will see Affleck as a detective who becomes entangled in a mystery involving his missing daughter and a secret government program, all while investigating a string of high-end crimes.
The cameras should be rolling this September in Austin, Texas (Rodriguez' usual stomping ground, where he has his Troublemaker Studios base). As for Braga, she'll next show up in The Suicide Squad, which is targeting a 30 July release in the UK.
