Looks like part of Team San Andreas is reuniting for something that should feature fewer earthquakes. Alexandra Daddario is joining former on-screen pop Dwayne Johnson in Baywatch.
After a long time running in the development surf, Seth Gordon is the man calling the shots on the film version of the cult TV series that featured sun-bronzed bodies, iconic red swimsuits and The Hoff proving that chest hair isn’t necessarily an impairment to swimming or saving lives.
The movie is expected to be comedy-heavy, with Zac Efron as one of Johnson's colleagues and Daddario now part of the team as a fellow lifeguard named Summer. She was on a casting shortlist revealed recently, but scored the part over the likes of Ashley Benson, Nina Dobrev and X-Men: Apocalypse’s Alexandra Shipp, who will probably be using her freshly acquired powers as Storm to make sure the shoot is afflicted with bad weather every day.
Daddario, also seen in True Detective and both Percy Jackson films, has comedy The Layover and 734th Nicholas Sparks romance The Choice on the horizon, with the latter due here on March 4.
