Alex Pettyfer might not have launched a blockbuster career with I Am Number Four, but he’s still managing to round up work. He’s just had success as part of the Magic Mike cast and has now signed on to co-star with Kristen Stewart in Cali.
The Nick Cassavetes thriller finds the pair as a couple of lovebirds called Chris and Mya in the San Fernando Valley, who make a ton of cash by shooting and selling a fake snuff film. But the problems start years after they head off into the sunset, when Mya’s younger sister gets into trouble and she has to return from the “grave” to save her.
The script is by 30 Minutes Or Less writer Michael Diliberti, and while that film skirted around danger, we expect this one to take a much darker tone, particularly since it carries the “gritty” tag.
Cassavetes is looking to get the thing shooting by late summer. Pettyfer’s next gig is on Lee Daniels’ **The Butler **and he'll then moving on to Pascal Caumeil’s Diamond Dogs. Stewart will be in On The Road, out on October 12, followed by her Bella Swan-song to Twilight in Breaking Dawn: Part 2 on November 16.
