Naming your film Crown Vic after the workhorse cars usually used as police vehicles in the States doesn't naturally scream futuristic thriller, but that's how Deadline is describing the new film set to star Alec Baldwin and Scott Eastwood.

Joel Souze wrote and will direct the film starting next month in Los Angeles. It reportedly will follow a couple of LAPD officers (Baldwin and Eastwood) pursuing a pair of vicious cop killers through the streets of the City of Angels while they figure out their own personal turmoil, including the rookie's shock at the older man's cynicism. Sounds little like a less corrupt Training Day, but get those lights flashing and those sirens howling...

Eastwood, who was most recently seen in The Longest Ride, is part of the Suicide Squad cast, with the film due on August 5. He's also in Oliver Stone's Snowden and Ben Affleck's Live By Night. Baldwin was a doctor in Concussion and has several projects in the works including Drunk Parents, Back In The Day and Alexander Payne's Downsizing.
