They didn’t share the screen in Drive, but now Oscar Isaac and Albert Brooks have found a way to work together at last. Brooks has signed to star in All Is Lost director J.C. Chandor’s latest, A Most Violent Year.
Swapping the current New York boardrooms of Margin Call and the windswept seascapes of Lost for the 1980s, Chandor’s latest finds him back in Manhattan, unspooling a story that takes place during the summer of 1981, when the city had one of its highest crime levels.
Isaac is playing an immigrant who, with his family, is trying to grow his heating oil business. But the crime-ridden streets of the big city cause more and more problems. Brooks is set to play his attorney, who may well come in useful…
With Jessica Chastain also on board, Chandor is kicking off shooting now. Brooks is also set to return to his role as Marlin in** Finding Dory**, the sequel to Finding Nemo, which is due to arrive in 2016. He’s also voicing a role in indie ‘toon The Little Prince.
