Alan Tudyk Joins Transformers 3

Alan Tudyk, who we will always consider as Wash from Firefly/Serenity despite his bulging film and TV career since he soared like a leaf on the wind, has been added to the cast of Transformers 3.

The Wrap reports that he’s snagged a currently unspecified role (though, like recent signing Patrick Dempsey, who is playing Megan Fox’s boss, we expect the details to slip out soon enough) in the film.

Michael Bay’s latest foray into the world of giant battling robots has rapidly been building an eclectic cast, with Dempsey, Frances McDormand and John Malkovich all getting cast in the movie, which is still under a relative veil of secrecy regarding its plot. But with word that Bay will be shooting scenes at Florida’s Kennedy Space Centre in September, we’re guessing there could be some orbital action. Trivia fans will note that the director last shot there while making Armageddon.

Since Serenity, Tudyk has appeared in the TV likes of Dollhouse and V, plus movies such as 3:10 To Yuma and the original Death At A Funeral. We’re excited to see him get some lefty blockbuster work, and hopefully Michael Bay will keep the camera still enough to let him do his thing.
