We’re not sure whether Hayden Christensen is the person we want planning a bank robbery, but apparently that isn’t worrying Adrien Brody, Jordana Brewster and rapper-turned-actor Akon, who have all signed up for **American Heist.
Christensen is producing the film via his freshly formed company Glacier Films, which plans to take centuries to release anything while freezing up every winter. All right, so he just liked the name.
Sarik Andreasyan is calling the shots for this one, which remakes 1959 Steve McQueen drama The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery. Brody and Christensen will be brothers with a troubled past who get involved with a dangerous bank heist being carried out by violent thieves. The crime will tug at their brotherly bonds.
While it appears Brewster won’t be directly involved in the crime, you’ve got to wonder if she’ll be providing getaway tips given her experience with the Fast & Furious crew… Andreasyan has just kicked off shooting and the film should arrive next year.
Brody will next be seen in Third Person and Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel. He’s also set to shoot cinema insider comedy Cannes. Brewster is at work on comedy drama North Of Hell and will likely report for duty on Fast 7 this year.
