Steve Knight always seems to be able to attract big names to Peaky Blinders. As shooting kicks off on the fourth series of the drama, Adrien Brody has joined the cast.

Deadline wasn't able to discover who Brody's sharp suited character is or what he might be up to, but according to Knight, "He genuinely was the actor in my head when I wrote the part. I’m sure he will be a formidable presence in the world of the Peaky Blinders."

Cillian Murphy is once again starring as crime family head Thomas Shelby, leading a cast that also includes Helen McCrory, Joe Cole, Aimee-Ffion Edwards and Kate Phillips, with Tom Hardy back to play Alfie Solomons.

For the new series, Tommy receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve, which leads him to realise that the family is in real danger again. Despite having ascended to high society, he returns to Small Heath to fight for survival. But can he manage to save those he loves when some feel he has betrayed them?

The show should be back later this year. Brody has Emperor and crime drama Unchained on the way.
