Despite Fox focusing a lot of time and energy on X-Men: First Class, it the studio is also heavily gearing up to reboot the Fantastic Four franchise, continuing its efforts to make us all forget that Rise Of The Silver Surfer in particular never happened. And now some fresh casting rumours have emerged, with word that Adrien Brody and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are both being considered for Reed Richards, AKA the stretchy Mr Fantastic.
Screen Rant reports that the actors are part of a list of well-known names that the studio is pursuing. Brody, of course, just worked with Fox on Predators, which has also helped his career branch out a little bit. Whether he’d be interested in properly dipping his toes in the comic book world is another matter.
Similarly, Rhys Meyers has action experience with the last Mission: Impossible adventure and, more recently in From Paris With Love.
Little has been heard about the rest of the cast, though rumours have already floated that The Thing will be an all-CG creation this time around, while both Alice Eve and Amber Heard have been touted as possibilities for Sue Storm.
Anyone feel a special need for this one? No, us neither, but maybe all will become clear as it moves forward.
