ACOD** stands for 'Adult Child of Divorce', but for Adam Scott it's about to spell a starring role, since it's now the next film on his busy roster.
The Parks And Recreation regular plays a guy forced early in life to take the part of "the sensible one" ih his family, when his parents decided to get divorced. He's been dealing with his folks' ongoing feuding ever since, but finds himself having to race around organising and placating and reuniting his dysfunctional siblings when his younger brother announces his engagement.
Yup, it's a wedding comedy. Haven't been many of those lately. This one however does have the considerable cache of being co-scripted by Ben Karlin, a writer and executive producer for The Daily Show and The Colbert Report (he co-created the latter). He's also been an uncredited script doctor on more films than we'll probably ever know, and edited the essay collection 'Things I've Learned From Women Who Dumped Me', so should have picked up some relationship comedy tips there...
His screenwriting collaborator on ACOD is Stu Zicherman, making his directorial debut after producing and writing TV series like Lights Out and Six Degrees. Shooting starts in March, as soon as Scott is done with The Bachelorette and can get a break from P&C.
