He’s probably best known here for playing warbling poseur Bumper Allen in Pitch Perfect (and its upcoming sequel) and various small roles in cinematic comedies. Now Adam DeVine has snagged his biggest film role today, signing on to play opposite Zac Efron in **Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates{
DeVine, who more regularly appears in cult US comedy Workaholics with his fellow Mail Order Comedy troupe members, will play one half of a sibling duo who, in a tale snatched from a real-life event, put up an ad on Craigslist in an attempt to find dates for a wedding. The immature party animals end up with two beautiful women who are crazier than they are, and chaos ensues.
Jake Szymanski, a veteran of Funny Or Die’s online output, is in the director’s chair for the film, scripted by Bad Neighbors’ Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien. The Neighbors connection continues with DeVine, as he had a small cameo in the comedy. Along with Pitch Perfect 2 (due May 15), DeVine will also be seen in horror comedy The Final Girls and Anne Hathaway’s latest, The Intern, which is arriving here in October.
