We were, we must admit, a little surprised to see Arnold Schwarzenegger swapping his usual action-flavoured fare for something a little quieter and, perhaps more deeply emotional. Yet he’s still attached to zombie drama Maggie, with Abigail Breslin in talks to sign on{
The long-gestating Maggie, written by John Scott 3, finds a father (Schwarzenegger) coping with the fact that his young daughter has been infected by an (un)deadly virus during a zombie apocalypse. Plagued with guilt and indecision, he decides to forego putting a bullet in her noggin as she slowly deteriorates, choosing instead to spend all the time she has left by her side.
Ads director Henry Hobson is making the leap to cinema for the film, with shooting currently set for the autumn.
Breslin enjoyed a hit recently with Halle Berry thriller **The Call **(which will hit UK screens on September 20), and will show up in Ender’s Game (out October 25), August: Osage County (set for December 26) and Wicked Blood, which doesn’t set have a release date.
