Psychological thriller Solace already has a solid core of male cast members in Anthony Hopkins, Colin Farrell and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Now it’s getting some welcome female attitude in the shape of Abbie Cornish.

Afonso Poyart is directing the film, which finds Hopkins as a retired, reclusive doctor forced back into the public eye when the FBI asks for his help in solving a series of horrible murders. Oh, and he's psychic, which doesn't hurt.

The medical man used to be a great investigator, who tapped his psychic abilities to assist the authorities in tracking down killers. But it appears the latest psycho (Farrell) has his own powers, and soon the chase is on in both directions…

Solace is set to kick off shooting next month, based on a script that has seen work from Ted Griffin, Sean Bailey, James Vanderbilt and, most recently, Peter Morgan.

Cornish, who worked with Ferrell on Seven Psychopaths, is seeing her profile rise again. She’ll next be seen in the RoboCop as Ellen Murphy and has also taken a leading role in the Ridley Scott-produced miniseries Klondike.
