Boys Don’t Cry director Kimberly Peirce has issued her first set of marching orders for the upcoming Iraq war-based drama Stop-Loss.
Abbie Cornish, best known for the indie drama Somersault, has signed up as the female lead in the drama, which focuses on a solider who returns home to Texas from the conflict, only to be recalled to duty by the military’s controversial “stop-loss” procedure. Trouble arises when he refuses to fight.
Once Peirce has found her man, she’s aiming for a late summer shoot date.
