Though the most crucial element in any Godzilla movie is, naturally, the big guy himself, Gareth Edwards’ new take on the giant reptile is also focusing on a few humans. Legendary Pictures is considering Kick-Ass himself, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, for one of the leading roles.

While details of the plot are still largely under wraps, CHUD has heard that the film will follow the story of a soldier, which might – heavy emphasis on the might, since no one knows for sure, and he’s not even in negotiations yet – be the role Taylor-Johnson would play.

Also pinging CHUD’s radar was news that the film will have two new monsters wreaking havoc. Which, honestly, is what you’d expect from the man who last made Monsters.

_Godzilla** has, of course, been experiencing a few issues behind the scenes recently,_with the studio now suing to keep three of the producers (Dan Lin, Roy Lee and Doug Davison) away from the production after they threatened to slap the film with a restraining order over fees. Still, with Frank Darabont now polishing Max Borenstein’s script and a March start date still apparently in place, it appears Godzilla will meet its May 2014 release date.
