The real-time thriller is a concept and genre that has produced mixed results in the past, but somehow people keep trying them. A new attempt, Live, will star Aaron Eckart and Courtney Eaton.
Steven C. Miller is in the director's chair, working from a script by Grand Theft Parsons writer Jeremy Drysdale. Eckhart will play a disgraced cop who must race against time to find the kidnapped daughter (Eaton) of the police commissioner. She's got 80 minutes to live, he's got a crazed killer on his trail, and he'll need to team up with an online reporter who wants to live stream the chase. Yes, sounds like the recipe for a terrifying case.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the team behind this one has been waiting to make it for several years, battling schedules, financing deals falling through and a shift in directors. But with the cast coming together, it's aiming to kick off filming next month in Alabama.
