It was just before Christmas last year that Empire chatted with A Boy Called Christmas co-writer/director Gil Kenan about his new family film. A brief teaser followed that, but with the movie finally due out in the UK in a couple of months, a full trailer has landed.
A Boy Called Christmas finds Kenan and Ol Parker adapting Matt Haig's story of Nikolas (Henry Lawfull), who sets out ostensibly in search of his missing father and is also tasked with bringing hopeful magic back to his community. What he discovers helps kickstart Christmas itself...
The cast for this one also includes Toby Jones, Kristen Wiig, Sally Hawkins (looking like she's having a lot of fun playing a wrong 'un), Michael Huisman, Jim Broadbent, Maggie Smith, Zoe Colletti and Stephen Merchant.
For UK audiences, the film lands in cinemas and on Sky Cinema/streaming service Now on 26 November. US viewers will find it on Netflix from 21 November.
