50 Cent Is A Dead Man Running

Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson has joined the cast of Dead Man Running, a British gangland thriller that has been partially funded by England footballers Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole, a fact that will have absolutely no bearing on the rest of this article.

Jackson joins a cast including Danny Dyer, Tamar Hassan, Brenda Blethyn and Monet Mazur. “I’m over the moon to be in this film,” he didn’t say, in quotes Empire just made up. “They’re a great bunch of lads and I would have been sick as a parrot if I hadn’t joined the cast. I’m going to give 110% of 50 Cent.”

Which, by our reckoning, is 55 Cents.

Anyway, Alex De Rakoff will be calling the shots on the movie, which began shooting today in London. The plot revolves around an ex-con who’s given 24 hours to pay Jackson’s loan shark a hundred grand, or become a “dead man running”.

The ex-con, who we’re guessing is played by the lovable Dyer, then goes from the dog tracks of East London to the underground drug scene of Manchester in an attempt to get the money. Not sure why, when all he needed to do was ask Ferdinand or Cole for the hundred grand, ba dum dum tisch.

The Man United and Chelsea footballers have taken executive producer credits on the film, which has been funded privately. We wish them well with their foray into the film world.
