The trailer for 30 Days Of Night is now live and online, and it's got more scary vampires in the cold per square inch than you can shake a stick at. Directed by Hard Candy's David Slade, the film stars Josh Hartnett, Melissa George, Danny Huston and Ben Foster - and it ain't gonna be pretty.
It's based on the crimson-spattered graphic novel of the same name by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith, about a small Alaskan town above the Arctic Circle where night lasts for 30 days in wintertime. Unfortunately for the townspeople, vampires rock up just as the sun goes down, presenting a killing spree for bloodsuckers and a heck of a problem for everyone else.
The film's kept the distinctive gape-mouthed look of the book, but added in a second act and a few new characters - not to mention some very cool action that Empire saw when we visited the set in New Zealand last year (more on that in a future issue) and some of David Slade's own particular brand of sadism (only on film; he probably rescues sick kittens and nurses them back to health for all we know). Meanwhile, check out the official site for the trailer and more.
