We played it twice, and we're sure he's saying "darkness will ascend". Does darkness ascend? We thought it fell. Anyway, here for your perusal, is the red-band trailer for **30 Days of Night: Dark Days, the sequel to, oddly enough, 2007's hit vampire comic book adaptation 30 Days of Night.
Despite its DTV status, this doesn't actually look notably cheaper than its predecessor. No Melissa George though: she's been replaced as survivor-of-the-original Stella by Kiele Sanchez, and we have a new director in Ben Ketai, who shot some webisodes in 2007, connected to the first film.
Plot-wise, it seems a bit meh: a group of other survivors recruit Stella to help take the fight back to the bloodsuckers. The Big Bad this time is Mia Kirshner's Lilith, and the script is a joint effort between Ketai and Steve Niles, who writes the comics.
Does it look suitably toothsome or a bit anaemic? The DVD is currently slated for a UK release in October.
