There have been many TV spots, trailers, teasers, posters and stills for Man Of Steel, and Superman fans have been eager to see them all. This 13-minute featurette, however, is something really rather special, chock full of new footage and behind-the-scenes goodness. Set aside a chunk of your lunchbreak and feast your eyes...
There's much to be taken from the super-clip, but stand-out moments include the fanboy hot button topics of Supes' "S" glyph and why director Zack Snyder decided to forgo The Big Blue Boy Scout's unfortunate underwear-outside-the-tights habit. Blame the Victorians, basically.
Man Of Steel finds writer/producers Christopher Nolan and David S Goyer working with director Zack Snyder to cook up a new, re-interpretation of Superman’s (Henry Cavill) origin. The usual story of the Kryptonian orphan who displays super powers thanks his alien roots is present and correct, but filtered through more self-discovery and wrangling with his place in our society.
And even as he’s discovered by humanity at large, there is fresh danger from General Zod (Michael “I WILL FIND HIM!!!” Shannon), who arrives on Earth and decides that Kal-El should really be more loyal to him than to this planet of weaklings. Cue conflict!
Man Of Steel lands in UK cinemas on June 14.
