The lucky, jammy, frankly disgraceful types who attended this year’s Movie-Con III (you’ve done this before, move on – Ed) have already been treated to footage from Danny Boyle’s ace-looking real-life drama thriller 127 Hours, but if not? Help is once more at hand, as following onthe heels of a teaser trailer comes the first full clip from the movie, courtesy of Cinema Blend.
127 Hours has been wowing the crowds at the Toronto Film Festival (and will close the BFI London Film Festival on October 28) with its story of Aron Ralston, the adventurous, experienced climber who hits a slight snag when he’s left pinned to a Utah canyon wall by a fallen boulder, which, y'know, is less than ideal.
Not surprisingly, the movie has also been spurring people to faint (and one audience member had a seizure), but this clip finds Aron (James Franco) at an earlier, happier time on his trip, where he’s encouraging two fellow climbers (Kate Mara and Amber Tamblyn, to be exact) to take a dip with him in a cave pool. Incidentally, "Wanna see my cave pool?" is how James Franco chats up women in rea life.
And now we know how long you’ll have to wait to see this (unless you get tickets to the LFF screening that is), as 127 Hours will be released on January 7.
