The adaptation of popular, Indiana Jones-riffing adventure video game series Uncharted has been trundling through development hell like a rusty mine cart for years. Sony is hoping that 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg can finally give it a shove towards actually shooting.
Uncharted is based on the PlayStation series that follows the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake. It currently stars Tom Holland as Drake, chronicling his first encounter with the professional rogue Sullivan. The studio is aiming to have this one shooting before the end of the year, though it'll first have to figure out Holland's promotional schedule for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
This is one that has attracted various actors, writers and directors through the years. Trachtenberg replaces Shawn Levy, while Mark Wahlberg, Seth Gordon and Joe Carnahan. The current version of the script comes from Jonathan Rosenberg and Mark Walker.
Trachtenberg has a few projects in development and most recently worked on an episode of comicbook adaptation series The Boys, which will air this year via Amazon's Prime Video.
