When Supergirl returns for its sophomore season, there are going to be much greater ties to the greater DC universe, including a four-part crossover with Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow; and a musical cross-over with The Flash. In addition to the returning Melissa Benoist (Kara Danvers/Supergirl), Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers), David Harewood (Hank Henshaw/Martian Manhunter), Jeremy Jordan (Winn Schott) Mehcad Brooks (James Olsen) and Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), look for new regular cast members Floriana Lima (police officer Maggie Sawyer) and Chris Wood (Mon-El) as well as the recurring Lynda Carter (President Olivia Marsdin), Ian Gomez (Snapper Carr) and Katie McGrath (Lex Luthor’s sister, Lena). Plus there are guest stars Tyler Hoechlin (Superman), Sharon Leal (Miss Martian) and Frederick Schmidt (John Corben/Metallo).
Melissa Benoist Says: “One of the things that I admired most about Kara is her sheer will and the fact that she never, ever gives up, even when things are grimmest. I admit, she doesn’t lose any of that light in season two. One of my favorite moments that I got to do is when she’s picking up that rant about how she feels a part of everyone in the city; that she wants to protect them in whatever way she can. Now, especially, it’s essential and people want that. They want to feel like there is someone there for them.”
