The jazz explosion. The birth of the blues. The genesis of soul, R&B, and rock and roll. So much of music history is rooted in the United States of America, a product of the communities and cultures that came together and forged brave, bold new sounds in the cities and beyond. The story of America and its musical landscape is brought to life in new feature documentary America’s Musical Journey presented by Visit The USA, Expedia and Air Canada. The film follows singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc (of ‘I Need A Dollar’ and ‘Wake Me Up’ fame) on a cross-country adventure where he travels to the likes of New Orleans, Nashville, New York, Miami and Chicago – birthplaces of beloved genres and hotspots of sonic innovation. It’s a must-see for music and film fans alike, sure to give you a taste of America’s incredible, ever-evolving melodic heritage.

The good news is, you could see the film for free at a very special screening – we’ve partnered with Visit The USA, Enjoy Illinois, Expedia and Air Canada for a showing of America’s Musical Journey across the United Kingdom including London, Manchester, Brighton, Oxford and Edinburgh from 23 January, where you can enjoy the film on the big screen with complimentary popcorn and wine. All you have to do to grab tickets is head this way and fill out the entry form – sign up, and keep an eye on your emails for confirmation.

Enjoy – and be warned, you may find yourself booking your own epic voyage to the United States’ great musical cities come the closing credits.
