What’s that, R2? This year, 2024, marks the 25th anniversary of LEGO® STAR WARS ™? Yes, that’s right, we’ve been building our favourite ships, planets and droids out of the iconic bricks for a quarter of a century now – and the LEGO Group wants you to take part in the celebrations.
Introducing The 25-Second Film Festival – a brand new way for you to showcase your love for Star Wars and bring your very own film idea to life. The LEGO Group is inviting Star Wars fans from across the galaxy to submit a 25-second video, in any style – we’re talking stop-motion, hand-drawn, CGI, anything you like – that represents LEGO® Star Wars sets and Minifigures.
The short film could recreate one of your most beloved scenes from the saga (and beyond), spotlight a specific character, or be something completely brand new, entirely from your imagination, set in the Star Wars galaxy. After all, the LEGO Group might make the bricks, but it’s you who brings them to life.
It’s all about celebrating the creativity of the Star Wars fan community, providing a great opportunity to flex your filmmaking muscles or try something new if you’re a creative Padawan – submissions are open to everyone and all levels of skill are welcome. What's more, after entering, fans will get access to exclusive digital rewards through LEGO® Insiders just for submitting!
Submissions are open from now until 22 April, so you have a good few weeks to bring your idea to life – and we encourage you to read through the rules before you get started to make sure your short will be accepted. There are also tips and tricks from top creators on how to make your film out of this world over on the LEGO 25-Second Film Festival page, as well as a download link to some licensed tunes for your film.
