Despite it being released on the doomed N64 six years ago, no developer has yet managed to top GolenEye - the best Bond adventure on any console, and one of the greatest video games ever made. Sadly, Everthing Or Nothing also misses the target.
Based on a story by Bruce Feirstein - screenwriter of Tomorrow Never Dies - the adventure sees Bond squaring off against a gallery of villains as he tries to stop deadly nanotechnology from destroying the world. While most Bond games have viewed the action through the super-spy's eyes, Everything Or Nothing instead adopts a third perspective, allowing for more cinematic set-pieces that show Bond's Q branch gadgets in all their explosive glory. EA has also spared no expense in re-creating the Bond movie atmosphere, securing Pierce Brosnan, Judi Dench and John Cleese to voice their digital doubles. Shannon Elizabeth is also on hand as the obligatory Bond girl, and even the original jaws, Richard Kiel, makes a guest appearance.
But in shifting the action to a third person perspective, playing Everything Or Nothing feels more like watching a 007 film than stepping into his shoes, making for a less engaging experience.
