Now that the Super Bowl teaser for the show informed us that Stranger Things' second season will arrive this coming Halloween, Netflix is following that with new images from the next run of episodes.
With tight security surrounding the buzzed-about show, not a lot has been released about the future of the story, though we do know that the cast will grow to include the likes of Sean Astin, Paul Reiser and Linnea Berthelsen.
There's a time jump involved, and the new season is set a year later, but, as the end of Season 1 implied, things still don't seem to be quite right with poor old Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), and his mother Joyce (Winona Ryder) still has reason to be concerned for him.
And if you're concerned that the success of the series might mean it stretches on for years, then don't worry: it's on the minds of the creators, too: “Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see,” Ross Duffer tells EW, with Matt Duffer adding, “I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.”
For now, we'll just have to wait and see how many seasons the show runs to – not every series can handle a long life, and the initial thrill of the concept begins to wear off. But hopefully Stranger Things can keep us entertained for at least a few more years. The show, as mentioned, returns later this year.
