Still busy gathering the cast he needs for fantasy/cop thriller blend Bright, director David Ayer has added two more actors to appear alongside stars Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. Dawn Olivieri and Kenneth Choi are the latest recruits.
Originally cooked up as a spec script by Max Landis, Bright finds Smith and Edgerton as a human and an orc who must outrun the authorities, criminals and a variety of supernatural beings to protect a powerful magic wand. Lucy Fry was recently added as Tikka, a young elf with her own magical abilities who comes into possession of the wand and needs the leads' help when dark forces try to hunt her down. Oliveri is aboard to be Smith's wife, while Variety reports that Choi's character is a mystery for now.
Brad William Henke and Noomi Rapace are also aboard the movie, which Netflix is financing to the tune of $90 million, its costliest outlay yet. Ayer will be shooting now for a 2017 release.
Oliveri was most recently seen in The Last Witch Hunter and has sci-fi romance Behind The Curtain Of Night on the way. Choi will next be seen as Principal Morita in Spider-Man: Homecoming, due out on 7 July next year.
