Not content with slugging it out for audiences on the big screen, Marvel and DC have long been making inroads into TV. Both companies are developing comedic, superhero-lite shows as their next move, Marvel with Damage Control and DC with Powerless, which now has Vanessa Hudgens on board to star.

Set within the DC universe, the show is designed as a workplace comedy based at one of the worst insurance companies in America, whose employees' lives are made that much more difficult thanks to the endless collateral damage and fallout from superhero actions.

Hudgens will be Emily Locke, an insurance adjuster who loves helping people, but finds herself increasingly frustrated by powered types causing mayhem.

As of right now, it's just a pilot for the NBC network across the pond, which didn't exactly manage to keep Constantine alive. Still, writer/producer Ben Queen, who has worked on Cars 2 in film and, slightly worryingly, Century City, Drive and A To Z, none of which ever made it past a few episodes, will be hoping for better luck with this one.
