Where's Wally?

Where's Wally? To those in the US, he’s better known as Waldo. But whatever you call him, the man in the red and white-striped jersey and bobble hat is still best known for Martin Handford’s long-running book series, which features huge crowd scenes. The object of the book? To find Wally in the scrum, of course! MGM has had this one in development for a few years, and now Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg think they have a take that works.

First reported by The Tracking Board and now confirmed by Deadline, this latest update for the film follows the requisite script drafts and potential director lists. Concepts have included a take on Wally's seeming ability to time travel, but the current story is unknown. The guys behind films such as This Is The End and The Interview might not seem like the most natural fit for a film that the studio is probably hoping will be family friendly, but the pair is in talks, and are looking to get involved partly because the current script is by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir, who they've worked with on a few movies including The Night Before and the upcoming Sausage Party.

There's no sign yet as to whether Rogen and Goldberg will do anything more than act as producers, helping to usher things forward, but they could always direct if they felt so inclined. They're currently busy getting their TV adaptation of Preacher ready for screens, and you can see more about that one right here.
