Good news if you're enjoying the supernatural tinged misadventures of Jesse Custer, Cassidy the vampire and Tulip the troublemaker. The show's US channel, AMC has just renewed Preacher for a second season, and this time it'll have more episodes.
The first season, which is airing Sundays now in the US and on Amazon Prime each Monday in the UK, will, once it wraps up, comprise 10 episodes. Next year's run is scheduled to have 13 episodes.
Preacher, which stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse, Joe Gilgun as Cassidy and Ruth Negga as Tulip, has Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin adapting the cult comic by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. It follows what happens when a conflicted preacher with a dark past is suddenly joined with a mysterious, powerful force.
So far, the show has been a success, so AMC is happy to order more. "Preacher is a special television program and we’re eager to share with fans the rest of this wild first season and, now, an expanded second season,” AMC president Charlie Collier says in a statement. “What Sam, Seth, Evan and the entire creative team have achieved in bringing Garth Ennis’ graphic novel to the screen is extraordinary. We look forward to more time with these unforgettable characters be it in Heaven, Hell, Texas or beyond.”
