In a surprising development, director Tim Miller has departed Deadpool 2 due, according to Deadline, to creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds.

The duo, of course, crafted the original Deadpool, which became a blockbuster beyond anyone's expectations. Of Miller, the site comments, "He hadn't formally signed a deal to continue, but he was developing the script and by all accounts had planned to return behind the camera."

The departure was reportedly an amicable one, and Fox is intending on having Miller direct an adaptation of author David Suarez' Influx.

The original Deadpool was produced on a $58 million budget and grossed $782 million. The sequel is expected in 2018.
