Though she's been splitting more of her time between producing as well as acting recently, Reese Witherspoon is still spending a lot of time in front of the camera. She's taking the lead in a new indie comedy called Home Again.

Hallie Meyers-Shyer, daughter of writer/director Nancy Meyers, is firmly following in the family business and has written the script, intending to direct it starting in the autumn.

The story finds a recently separated mother of two moving to Los Angeles to regain her life, but inviting chaos in when she agrees to help three charismatic young guys.

Meyers-Shyer has been developing the film for a while, and had Rose Byrne previously attached the lead. Now, with an assist from her mother, she's secured Witherspoon's services, which should help the eventual film find distribution.

Witherspoon is juggling various projects as a producer, and will be back on our screens, or at least her voice will, in Illumination's animated musical comedy Sing (out January 27.) She's also been working on both sides of the camera on HBO miniseries Big Little Lies, which should hit the channel next year.
