The Aquaman cast is beginning to fill up. And director James Wan has dipped into the list of people he's worked with before for the latest addition, as The Conjuring's Patrick Wilson is aboard.

Wilson will be a villain in the movie, playing Orm Marius, AKA Ocean Master. The half-brother of Jason Momoa's title character, he's a rival for the throne of Atlantis and capable of wreaking huge chaos across the city and the ocean in general. The character first appeared in 1966 and if it sounds a little like the dynamic between Thor and Loki... Well, you're not wrong. This will mark Wilson's second stint as a comic book character, following his turn as Nite Owl in DECU overseer Zack Snyder's Watchmen.

He joins a cast that already has Amber Heard as Mera, Queen of Atlantis, and Willem Dafoe as Vulko, a friend and advisor who has had his own issues with the hero in the past. Given the timing of his casting, it seems unlikely that Wilson's character will be introduced in Justice League, but who knows? They appear to be finding a spot for everyone else...

Wan will be shooting the movie next year, ready for an October 2018 release. Wilson will next be on our screens in The Founder, due on 17 February.
