Did you know the creator of Wonder Woman also created the lie detector? Well, he did, and you’ll be able to see how it all played out thanks to upcoming biopic, Professor Marston & The Wonder Women.

Luke Evans will play Harvard grad Dr William Moulton Marston, the man who conjured up DC’s Amazonian princess in 1941. However, Marston didn’t envisage her alone, owing the character to two very important women: both of whom he lived and had children with at the same time. Rebecca Hall will star as his wife, Elizabeth Holloway Marston (who assisted William in constructing the lie-detecting systolic blood-pressure test), with Bella Heathcote onboard as the pair’s partner, Olive Byrne.

Professor Marston & The Wonder Women will be written and directed by Angela Robinson (producer on True Blood and How To Get Away With Murder), and will deal with the misogynist controversies of his creation Diana Prince, and the love triangle that threatened to ruin their reputations.

Luke Evans is currently starring in The Girl On The Train (listen to him on last week’s Empire Podcast, where he alluded to the project before his confirmation), Hall has another biopic, Christine, currently showing at the London Film Festival, and Heathcote will soon be seen in Fifty Shades Darker.

Production on the film is now underway.
