There is less than a month to wait now until Game Of Thrones returns to our screens, and from the looks of the new trailer, the show is going to start its farewell tour in epic style. But did you expect anything else?
With the White Walkers (led by the Night King) on the march, these are the most perilous times that Westeros and the territories beyond haven seen in a long, long time. But while the various families and leaders squabble among each other, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) suggests that the only way to survive might be to put aside bitter differences and fight the common enemy. After all, as he points out, the various factions fought together once before.
Showing off the scope of the upcoming seventh season, yet still not managing to give too much away, the trailer really does work to get you anticipating what's to come (as if fans weren't already!) Flaming swords, dragons in battle, huge clashes and our main characters – those that have made it this far – striding around to the haunting strains of Ramin Djawadi's haunting score piece that became one of the most memorable musical moments in the show's history last season.
Game Of Thrones is back starting 16 July on HBO in the States, with the usual simulcast on Sky Atlantic in the early hours of 17 July here before a repeat that evening at a much more sensible time.
