Marti Noxon, best known for her TV work with the likes of Buffy, Angel and UnReal, already has Lily Collins starring in her film directorial debut, To The Bone. She's now announced an even bigger name, as Keanu Reeves is part of the cast.
Reeves, currently found back on the action track for the John Wick films, will not be running around kicking, punching and shooting people for the new dark comedy, which draws on Noxon's own history with anorexia. Collins is playing a young woman dealing with the condition and the man who was Neo is Dr. William Beckham, a medical man with an unorthodox style who pushes Collins's character to embrace life and treatment. “Keanu has such generosity and intelligence, not to mention a warmth that I’m eager to tap into," says Noxon. "We’re all incredibly excited that he’s agreed to help us bring To the Bone to life."
Noxon, who also wrote the script, is about to start the cameras rolling in Los Angeles. Reeves will be back on our screens for legal drama The Whole Truth, which arrives on June 10. There's also John Wick: Chapter 2, due on February 17 next year, Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon and dystopian love story The Bad Batch.
