Collateral Beauty director David Frankel has clearly reached the "K" section of people he wants to hire. Just a couple of days after word arrived that Keira Knightley was making a deal to join the cast, Kate Winslet has entered talks to sign up too.
The story finds Will Smith as a New York advertising executive who suffers a massive personal tragedy. Shocked at how quickly his life is going into a tailspin, his colleagues hatch an unorthodox plan to help him, only to see it backfire, and yet also work in unexpected ways.
Knightley is in negotiations to play someone taking part in the effort, portraying the living embodiment of Love in a display of Love, Time and Death. The Hollywood Reporter's story doesn't mention what Winslet might be doing.
If they do add their names to the list, they'll be joining a cast that also already includes Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Michael Pena and Naomie Harris.
With Allan Loeb on script duty, Collateral Beauty faces a challenge at the box office in the States as it's due to arrive on December 16, the same day as a little movie called Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
