Woody Allen is busy recruiting the cast he needs to make the film he'll release in 2017, on his usual annual schedule. He already has Kate Winslet and Jim Belushi aboard and is now in the process of adding Justin Timberlake and Juno Temple.
It's a typically eclectic ensemble for Allen, and thanks to Variety's report on the new casting, we have a few new details about the film in which they'll be sharing the screen. Written as usual by the director, it'll be a drama set in New York in the late 1950s. The plan is for Allen to kick off filming in the city this autumn.
Of course, nothing is yet known about what any of the actors will be doing in the film, so for now that's all shrouded in mystery.
With his latest, Cafe Society, due here on September 2, Allen has also been busy putting the finishing touches to the TV series he's been working on for Amazon, in which he stars with Miley Cyrus. That is scheduled to appear on the company's streaming video service later this year.
Timberlake will next be heard, if not seen, in DreamWorks Animation's Trolls, out on October 21. Temple is part of the cast for Away (October 7) and is at work on new drama The Most Hated Woman In America.
