You may best know Jordan Peele as one half of comedy duo Key & Peele, or from this year's Keanu. He's also cropped up in several other movies. But he's long harboured ambitions to make horror thrillers and his directorial debut, Get Out, has just put its first trailer online.

Get Out finds Chris (Sicario's Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams) at the meet-the-parents milestone of dating. She invites him for a weekend getaway upstate in New York with Missy (Catherine Keener) and Dean (Bradley Whitford).

While Chris initially reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, he soon has real reason to worry. As the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

Peele's comedy work has always tackled themes of race and society, and his first stab at a horror thriller (which he also wrote) promises the same thing. Get Out hails from the Blumhouse team, and will be scaring US audiences from 24 February. There's no news on a UK date yet.
