Following on from Keith Richards popping up as Jack Sparrow's (Johnny Depp) father, the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise dipped back into the music icon pool, and evened up the Stones/Beatles divide by adding Paul McCartney to what is known here as Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge. McCartney took to Twitter to debut his character poster.
The movie, which as the poster shows, is the much more evocative Dead Men Tell No Tales in the States, finds Jack facing off against an old adversary when Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) escapes from the Devil’s Triangle with a squad of supernatural buccaneers and sets out on a mission to kill every pirate. Jack's only hope will be to track down the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that grants its possessor control over the seas.
Quite what McCartney will be doing in the film is anyone's guess at this point – those could be playing cards he's holding, and he looks flesh and blood – but we'll find that out when the film sails in later this month.
Co-starring Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, Geoffrey Rush and Orlando Bloom, Salazar's Revenge is out on 26 May.
