Since he scored the job of co-writing Iron Man 3 (plus writing and directing its Marvel One-Shot spin-off All Hail The King) and worked on drafts for Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and some other high profile movies, talented scribe Drew Pearce has largely stayed off the radar, directing music videos and writing other projects. Now he's making his film directing debut with Hotel Artemis and has Jodie Foster on board to star.

Pearce has also scripted this one, which is still largely wrapped in mystery, but which Deadline has leaned is "a near-future thriller in its own, distinctive crime universe." So we don't yet know whether Foster will be investigating a crime, falling victim to it or anything beyond the fact that she's playing a character called The Nurse. “Jodie Foster is an icon, pure and simple," says Pearce. "She’s an extraordinary artist, and to be working with one of the all-time greats on my first feature as a director is an absolute honour."

The Ink Factory's Simon and Stephen Cromwell are backing the film, which should be shooting in May or June next year. Foster most recently took her latest turn behind the camera, bringing us financial hostage drama Money Monster this year.
