Always a big player at the San Diego Comic-Con these days, The Walking Dead (and spin-off Fear The Walking Dead) brought cast members and, since they can rarely say much of consequence because of the series' secrecy, trailers for both series' new seasons. Check out The Walking Dead's new tease below and find Fear's lurking at the bottom like a stumbling zombie.

With producers Gale Anne Hurd, Scott Gimple and Greg Nicotero also in attendance, talk was of course about the big cliffhanger, in which Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan killed (or appeared to kill) one of our heroes. The trailer naturally has to walk a fine line in not revealing exactly who bites the bullet (or feels the bite of Negan's baseball bat, Lucille,) but fortunately Season 7 will be introducing fan-favourite character King Ezekiel, ruler of a place he calls The Kingdom (natch), played Khary Payton. King Ezekiel certainly seems to live the extravagant life, tiger and all.

The Walking Dead will return to US screens on October 23, which means it should be back in the UK on Monday 24.

As for Fear The Walking Dead, that brought a similar grouping of cast and creatives, but again without revealing too much. “For the first time we’re going to see our characters really having to learn how to survive in the apocalypse in a way they haven’t before,” said executive producer Dave Erickson, “And then on top of that they’ll be separated, they’re really doing it on their own.”

Fear The Walking Dead returns to Stateside TVs on August 21, pointing to an August 22 kick-off to the second half of Season 2 in the UK. And if you head here, you can find our reviews of the most recent seasons of both shows.
