Director Bong Joon-ho brought a big beast on to our screens with 2006's The Host, but with Okja, he seems determined to up the cute factor even given the creature's size. Prepare to sympathize with a super pig as the full trailer arrives.
Okja focuses on a young woman named Mija (Seo-Hyeon Ahn) befriending the titular giant animal. The titular beast (think pig meets hippo) was created by the powerful, multi-national corporation called Miranda as a new source of food for the world. But when animal rights activists help to free Okja, and he bonds with Mija, the trouble really starts.
That corporate world is represented by the woman who felt like a perfect fit for Bong's world in Snowpiercer and seems just as right here: Tilda Swinton.
The likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Giancarlo Esposito, Lily Collins and Steven Yeun are also part of the cast for the film, which is premiering at the Cannes festival but will be available via Netflix on 28 June.
