While Disney was, in the aftermath of its controversial director switch, understandably quiet about the untitled Han Solo-centric Star Wars spin-off at this past weekend's D23, new filmmaker Ron Howard has kept the hype flag flying by posting images from the set. His latest features the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon and what appears to be a first look at Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian in costume.
It's a little tough to know for sure – the image is on Howard's monitor and it could be someone standing in for Glover as the crew sets up the shot. But if it really is the actor, it'll mark the initial pic of him wearing the likely colourful clobber he'll sport in the film. After all, if the original trilogy taught us anything, it's that Lando is a man with style. You can get a closer look at the image via Howard's Instagram page.
Glover is just one of the actors in the movie, which will follow Han Solo's (Alden Ehrenreich) earlier days, his winning the Falcon from Lando and his meeting with Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo). Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Michael Kenneth Williams will all feature.
Howard took over the gig from Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were fired after a few months in production over differences in the film's tone. The still-nameless movie will be out on 25 May next year.
