As Tim Burton plunges ahead with the casting stage of his new, live-action version take on 1941's Dumbo for Disney, he's locking in the people he wants. The latest name on the list is Colin Farrell.
The actor, no stranger to Disney after Saving Mr. Banks, is on to play Holt, the widowed Kentuckian father of two kids who will end up somehow helping the young elephant who overcomes bullies and discovers that his massive ears allow him to fly.
Eva Green is in talks to play Colette, a French trapeze artist who works for a villainous circus owner called Vandemere, who acquires the smaller big top owned by the kindly Medici (Danny DeVito).
Ehren Kruger wrote the script for the new movie, and Burton will be shooting this year. As for Farrell, he'll next be seen in The Beguiled, due 23 June, and has worked on The Killing Of A Sacred Deer with Lobster director Yorgos Lanthimos.
