Opening this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Woody Allen’s latest sees Jesse Eisenberg caught in a love triangle with Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively. Tough life, hey? The exclusive poster below may look rather quaint (there’s something all warm and familiar about Allen’s go-to Windsor font, isn’t there?), but there’s sure to be much comedy drama during its 136-minute running time.
Eisenberg plays Bronx-born Bobby Dorfman, the nephew of a powerful Hollywood agent who finds himself torn between two ladies: one in Hollywood, and one back in New York. Having starred in 2012's To Rome With Love, this marks Eisenberg's second feature with Allen, while seeing him pair up with Stewart again after last year’s American Ultra.
Having cast Owen Wilson so well in the ‘Woody’ role for Midnight In Paris, Eisenberg is an equally effortless fit within Allen’s worlds of paranoia and society darlings. Can your next film please feature the pair of them, Woody?
Café Society is released in UK cinemas on September 2 and also stars Jeannie Berlin, Steve Carell, Parker Posey, Corey Stoll and Ken Stott.
